I am a graduate of Longwood University, where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I furthered my education at Virginia Commonwealth University, earning a Masters Degree in Administration and Supervision. I also earned my National Board Certification in Literacy. The 2024-2025  school year marks the start of my 31st year in education! Prior to coming to Curtis in 2011, I was a first and second grade teacher in Hanover County. I served as the Assistant Principal at Curtis in the 2011-2012 school year. I have been proudly serving as the Principal of Curtis Elementary since 2012.

I am an avid football fan- Go Dallas Cowboys! I am also proud to be a 24 year cancer survivor. When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, and two adult children. We love to spend time on the water boating, fishing, or spending time on the beach.

I am beyond honored to serve this community. Please know that if you need anything, I am only a phone call away.

I am excited to begin my second year as a part of the Curtis Elementary Family! I look forward to another year when we make it happen for our students and each other while still looking to learn from you as you learn more about me. I am here to support you in any way that I can and my door is always open. I see endless possibilities for high engagement, creativity and the implementation of innovative strategies to help us fill in the gaps, remediate and move our young scholars forward! I continue looking forward to building meaningful relationships as I learn more about the Curtis Elementary community in a more excellent way. I'm a Virginia State University graduate, I earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Health/Physical Education. I continued my education at Regent University, earning a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership. The 2024-2025 school year is the start of my 18th year in education!

I am a father of two adult children, I have been married for 22 years, and a grandfather of two boys. When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and love watching action, mystery, and thriller movies/shows. 

I am extremely excited to serve and contribute to the success of the Curtis Elementary community and look forward to another wonderful school year!
