I am a proud graduate of Longwood University, where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I later continued my education at Virginia Commonwealth University, receiving a Master’s Degree in Administration and Supervision. I also achieved National Board Certification in Literacy. The 2025–2026 school year marks the beginning of my 32nd year in education!
Before joining the Curtis Elementary community in 2011, I taught first and second grade in Hanover County. I began my journey at Curtis as Assistant Principal during the 2011–2012 school year and have had the honor of serving as Principal since 2012.
This year, our school theme is “Teach to the Crown, Not the Kid.” It reflects my core belief that every child has greatness within them, and it’s our job as educators to help them rise to meet their fullest potential. With the right support, guidance, and encouragement, all of our students can achieve their academic goals—and more. We hope you will partner with us on this goal this year.
Outside of school, I’m an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and a proud 25-year cancer survivor. I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two adult children, Mason and Abbie. We love being on the water—whether it’s boating, fishing, or relaxing at the beach. I’m also a proud “Jeeper” and love hitting the beach in my Jeep!
It is truly a privilege to serve this amazing community. Please know that I am always just a phone call or email away if you need anything.
